Agra, a city in Uttar Pradesh, is undoubtedly one of the best tourist sites India. Since it is home to the historic monument Taj Mahal, it attracts hordes of tourists, researchers, academics, and historians every year. According to the statistics, in 2016 Taj Mahal was visited by 62 lakh tourists. Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th Century, is listed in the Seven Wonders of the World. The immaculate symmetry of the Taj Mahal was achieved by two decades of hard labor by 20,000 workers. Apart from the renowned Taj Mahal, the ancient city of Agra is home to two other World Heritage Sites. Agra Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the sturdiest forts in India. This red sandstone fort was built by Emperor Akbar which took a time span of eight years to complete. Agra is home to other notable tourist sites in India including Mehtab Bagh aka the Moonlight Garden, Bear Rescue Centre, Kinari Bazaar- A bustling street market, and Fatehpur Sikri.
